Online Licence Applications Available Now

20 July 2009

In a first for Australian karting, new members to the Australian Karting Association (AKA) can now apply for a racing licence online.

The availability of an online licence application is a giant step forward in technology for the AKA and works in conjunction with the SmartCard Licencing system that is currently being implemented across the country.

At this stage the online licence application is only available for NEW AKA licence applications, however, in the near future this option will be made available for the renewal of licence holders as well.

"The new SmartCard licencing system is something that the National Executive has been working on for a number of years in conjunction with the State Secretaries and the team at Thought Patterns, I'm delighted to now have all new licence applications available online," said AKA Treasurer Max Laybutt.

"This is really the second step in the SmartCard licencing system with renewals set to come online soon followed by the race entry program for all clubs across the country.

"It has been three years in the making and I'm sure everyone would agree that this is a great step forward for our sport."

Those interested in applying for an AKA licence should visit www.karting.net.au and click on the 'apply for licence' button.
